Love this card! So many people…so many details! From Julia in a round robin 🙂
This shows a settlement, or “kampung,” along the Malacca River. Imagine what happens if it rains much! From a round robin — thanks Nurul!
Lovely card! From Wiki: “Marienplatz is the heart of the city of Munich. In the Middle Ages, the square used to be a market place as well as the place where tournaments and festivities took place.” Another of my husband’s nice official postcrossing cards
What a beautiful, charming town! Another official postcrossing card received by my husband.
Wow! I feel honored to have this card because I know that Moomins are a HUGE collectible to many people 🙂 I kind of like them myself…and am very happy with this card 🙂
This is a beautiful view of what looks like a beautiful city! Thanks to Alison, who sent this for an organized swap!
I am not sure where this view is…but I love it 🙂 In one image, we see the street corner when it’s 33 degrees below zero! In the next, it’s a steamy 89 🙂 Also…this was printed in Australia. I just don’t get the economics of printing postcards!
Isn’t this too cool? From an organized swap 🙂
From Ikea, asking, in Finnish, if you’d come and have dinner 🙂 This is another official postcrossing card received by…you guessed it…my husband! 🙂
am not collecting art museum cards officially, but maybe I should. I seem to have a bunch of them–and I really like them! 🙂
Had I gone to college way back when I lived in New Jersey, perhaps I would have gone to Princeton.
I just love this official postcrossing card…it is so cute 🙂 From the Netherlands 🙂
I received this awesome, official postcrossing card from a sender in Finland. I really like it 🙂
This is an official postcrossing card from Angelo. I love it–it is a very nice artistic map!
The Sundance Instutitute, headed by Robert Redford, views over 2,500 submissions to select between 100 and 105 feature films and 60 shorts. The Sundance Film Festival is internationally recognized as a showcase for the best in new American independent films.
This Moorish-designed pavillion houses a day-time resort, concert hall and several small shops and concessions. Beautiful!
This lovely card comes from my penpal Marji 🙂 She says she hopes to one day have at least one good friend that she can fool around with like this 🙂 I agree! Art by Inge Look.
Well…since I love mountains, maps and snow…this card is perfect for me 🙂 The resort has 100 trails and 3,300 acres of skiable terrain, accessed by 14 chairlifts including 4 six-passenger high speed lifts…the most in the world! 🙂
This also is from my penpal Marji. It is a lovely photo that shows how flat the area is! I never realized Finland was so flat until I started postcarding 🙂 Very nice!
The Dutch Square is famous for its red buildings. In the foreground is the Queen Victoria’s fountain. Another beautiful card from my penpal Benn 🙂
This lovely art card comes from my friend Benn in Malaysia. He sent it to my children 🙂 It is delightful!
What a nice and different view of Rio! Thank you to Lara, who sent this to me for a round robin 🙂
This awesome card came my way through a round robin! I love it! The back says that ancient traditions and craft still thrive among modern day Aborigines.
This card is simply awesome. Look at all the detail: the marlboro sign, the knee-high boots on the man sitting by himself, the dress of the middle man in the group, the cloth and clothing for sale! Not to mention the lovely blue paint on the building 🙂 From a private trade.
This is fascinating! From the Web (with slight editing by me!): It was Periander who first considered to open a Canal through the Isthmos. Demetrios Poliorketes seriously considered the idea and started working on it, but he was warned that the difference in sea levels would drown Aigina and other small islands. Nero sent 6000 Jewish slaves who dug a ditch 3300 meters in length and 40 meters wide, but the project was abandoned. Herod of Atticos, the Byzantines, the Venetians, they all tried. The Canal was opened after the Greek independence and between the years 1882 – 1893.
Oh, I wish I knew more about where this was! This is so beautiful…I want to visit! Look at the windmills in the upper left….and how the white buildings contrast so strikingly with the blue, blue water!
